Since 1997 the CIMS has prepared and implemented projects designed to address the public administration, management, and ICTs issues at the sectorial and regional levels of the executive and legislative powers. These projects were built on the same methodological principles of good governance, e-Governance, promoting transparency, accountability and modern public management. Moreover, the CIMS gained significant knowledge, capacities and experience to successfully provide to any public, private, or civil society agency its services in designing, preparation and implementing projects in similar or other fields.

 
Modernization of the State for Administration of Democratic Governance in the Sphere of the President


 The main goals of the project was Support further modernizing the administration of good governance in the sphere of the State Executive Power, rearranging the organizational forms, modernizing processes, methods and tools of information exchange, analysis and internal administration of the State Chancellery, as well as inter-institutional relations maintained with 40 sectorial Ministries and State Agencies, with the Regional Governments, Parliament, Constitutional and Supreme Courts, National Bank, and civil society of Georgia.

ICTD Framework for Georgia

 
The immediate objective of the Project was to elaborate the Strategic Paper - “ICT Development Framework for Georgia”, which will significantly increase the performance capacity and efficiency of the Georgian National Communications Commission, Georgian State Department of Information Technology and Ministry of Transport and Communication of Georgia, resulting in noticeable strengthening of the state e-Economy.

Modernization of Financial System of Georgia: The First Phase 

 
The overall objective of the Project was to assist the Government of Georgia in management of financial resources and reversing of current budgetary crisis through better coordination within the agencies of financial system.
 
 
Capacity Development of the Ministry of Justice in Georgia: Civil Registry Reform

 
 The general objective of the current DFID project was to support the Ministry of Justice of Georgia in developing and establishing a new civil registry model, strengthening the Civil Registry Department and building of capacity of its newly recruited staff.
 
 
Support for Democratic Governance in Imereti Region of Georgia

  
The overall goal of the project is to increase the capacity of regional and local administrations to exercise accountable and efficient public management in Imereti region. This is being achieved through improvement of internal management practices at regional and local levels ensuring the transparency of decision-making and better public accountability
 
 
Strengthening Effectiveness and Transparency of the Parliament and Government of Georgia

  
The overall objective of the project is to increase the capacity of the parliamentary bodies and the central Government to exercise accountable and efficient public management. This overall objective will be achieved through better alignment of executive and legislative branches of power, ensuring the transparency of decision-making, policy dialogue and better public accountability.
 
 
Strengthening Institutional Performance and Capacity for Public Sector Control

 
 The overall objective of the Project is to strengthen the capacity of the overall public system for financial-economic control and, in particular, of the Chamber of Control of Georgia (CCG).The project aims to strengthen the CCG’s ability to carry out its mandate of government’s oversight to serve the public interest in an accountable, transparent and professional manner.
Modernization of Financial System of Georgia: The Second Phase  
From September 2001 to December 2004 the UNDP Project "Modernization of Financial System of Georgia: Phase I" has been implemented. The elaboration and design of the Project – "Modernization of Financial System of Georgia: Phase II" – was initiated in 2004 by the UNDP Georgia National Consultants’ - CIMS team.
 
The overall objective of the project is further assist the Government of Georgia in management of financial resources and reversing of current budgetary crisis through better coordination between and within agencies of financial system resulting in enhanced mechanisms for policy formulation and through increasing the effectiveness of the Ministry of Finance by introducing modern approaches to management;

Assistance to the State Treasury of Georgia

Assistance to the State Treasury included (a) establishment of a fully functioning Treasury Single Account system by consolidating completely the banking arrangements for central government budget receipts and payments and (b) enhancement cash planning and cash management functionality. The TSA provides complete and timely information and transparency on government funds, minimizes operational costs born with the treasury transactions. Streamlined banking arrangements and associated operational enhancements improve efficiency and control.
